Center for New Student Family Programs
The Campus Life Mentor Program is designed to engage new students with the University of Utah and surrounding campus community during their first year. There are mentors for freshman students, transfer students, as well as a women’s interest group.

Ambassadors serve as a liaison between Career Services and students, alumni, academic partners and employers. As an Ambassador, you will play an integral part of our office and help bring and raise awareness of career and professional development resources we offer to our students!

International Exchange / Study Abroad
The Learning Abroad Office
Studying abroad is a wonderful opportunity for students seeking international experiences and wanting to broaden their horizons. Students gain new perspectives and outlooks on the global scale in new environments and cultures and can develop leadership and communication skills while studying in a different country.
Utah Reads Tutoring Program
The Bennion Center
This community service work-study program involves university students as reading tutors and site leaders. Each site has a leader with leadership responsibilities. The site leader is mentored by a staff person, and the tutors are mentored by the site leaders and receive training from staff members.
Student-led Volunteer Programs
The Bennion Center
There are about 50 student-led volunteer programs for projects at nonprofit organizations, which foster volunteer management and leadership skills. Program directors recruit additional students, who are mentored by fellow students with previous experience as well as a staff member. There is a student board that governs the programs.

A CEL-TA is an extra set of hands, eyes and ears who can help coordinate the relationship between the community and your class. The CEL-TA will help by designing and leading reflections, maintaining the relationship with community partners (through calls, site visits, email communication, etc.), and making the students feel an extra level of support []
BioWorld
Department of Bioengineering
With the goal of improving health care, students are assembled into teams and work directly with doctors and nurses who have overseas experience in humanitarian health care practices. During this two-semester experience, students develop business plans for low-income areas around the world and have opportunities for international travel.
